Career Opportunities

Spencer & Associates is a boutique IT consulting firm with an outstanding international reputation. Our bridge of technology, marketing, and international business offers exciting opportunities for top-level people—a broad work environment and the opportunity to learn and contribute in multiple areas. Our small size fosters rapid growth in responsibility, and compensation. Our corporate culture is intended to provide an informal, yet professional and satisfying work experience—leading to a long-term, enjoyable relationship and continued growth.

Spencer & Associates’ staff are considered experts in the field of digital color technology. Research projects range from understanding user preferences and expectations in color printing to solving management-level problems of market competitiveness. The SpencerLab Digital Color Laboratory division provides world-class independent product testing services to the industry and develops printer test software, which has become a de facto industry standard. Founded in 1989, clients have ranged from Adobe to Xerox, including Canon, Epson, Hewlett-Packard, Lexmark, Oki, Ricoh, Sharp, Toshiba, the Investment and Legal communities.

Spencer & Associates is based on Long Island, about 35 miles from Manhattan. We offer a unique team-based, creative, and informal work environment, a challenging intellectual atmosphere, competitive salary and benefits, and a profit-sharing plan—growth is limited solely by personal initiative and ability.

Marketing Associate

Spencer & Associates currently has an opening for a tech-savvy Marketing Associate to work directly with senior management. S/he would provide leadership as well as detailed support—communicating with our potential client base, with increasingly responsibility for building our business and executing sophisticated assignments from senior management.

We are seeking a sharp, well-organized individual with the ability to interact effectively in a professional environment, further enhancing our reputation with major corporate and industry clients. Our business is based on custom project sales and services. Knowledge, expertise and experience need to be presented as solutions that will appeal to our current and potential client base. Management will set goals and strategies, and the successful candidate will be responsible for tactical implementation.

The ideal candidate will think strategically about the business and be able to generate marketing ideas; be both creative and analytical, an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills; be self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, small-company environment; be a team player with leadership qualities; and understand how to ask just the right questions.

A Bachelors degree is required, along with effective knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of Adobe software and Mac OS as well as Windows is desirable. Initial compensation is competitive, and this position is a superb foundation for long-term career growth—but success will require strong capabilities and hard work; performance will be well rewarded. Some travel is required. This is an outstanding ground-floor opportunity for the right candidate.

College Internship

Getting real world experience prior to graduation is invaluable in determining career goals and aspirations.

As an intern at SpencerLab, you will be exposed to the business, marketing, and technical issues within the digital printing business. Using your analytical skills you will help find new approaches to these challenges. Our intern projects help you to learn and develop your skills but also help you to make a meaningful difference in SpencerLab’s businesses and goals. Our intern program will give you access to all aspects of SpencerLab.

The SpencerLab Summer Internship Program runs from June through August; alternate schedules are sometimes available. These are full-time, paid internships. This program is designed to provide capable and motivated students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects.

To succeed in our Intern Program, you must possess strong communication skills, technical and/or computer skills, plus the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and possess some former work experience. We prefer students that are just completing their sophomore or junior year or graduating; however, all are welcome to apply.
