Print Quality Comparison Sample Books

A major printer company needed an independent laboratory to print 1,500 Sales Tool Kits—each consisting of three sample documents on each of six competitive office color laser printers. All of the printers had to be maintained within calibration and environmental limits for equitable results. Unanticipated technical problems with the client's documents were identified and resolved. All 27,000 print samples were printed in a timely manner to support the dealer channel. Reception was tremendous—the sample books contibuted significantly to sales.

• High Resolution Monochrome Office Laser

  After performing quality and performance testing and market positioning analysis of a high resolution monochrome office laser printer for a major printer company, our client asked us to select and tune image samples supporting its proposed market position—in time for product launch. The two demonstration pages we produced in conjunction with their public relations firm were used at the successful launch and subsequently at trade shows around the world throughout the product's lifetime.

• SoHo Color InkJet

  A major printer company introducing a new color inkjet printer asked us to provide image-based print samples that would show the best capabilities of the new product. We performed an evaluation of the key print quality attributes and limitations. Our staff selected appropriate photographs and modified them substantially as needed to reflect capabilities and requirements of the printer. Samples were delivered in time to support a successful launch. We were subsequently asked to produce samples to support several additional color inkjet printers launched over subsequent quarters.

• Desktop Office Color Office Laser

  A major printer company introducing its first generation color laser printer asked us to use the results of our quality test and analysis to select and tune images that would show the best capabilities of the new product. Our staff selected appropriate photographs and modified them as needed to reflect capabilities and requirements of the printer. In order to hide limitations visible in part of an otherwise highly appealing image, part of the image was replaced and seamlessly integrated. Three samples were delivered in time to support a successful launch. We were subsequently asked to produce additional samples to support foreign markets and vendor consumables.

Font Page Illustration Design for Desktop Office Color Laser

For a color laser printer about to be introduced, a major printer company asked us to design an illustration to be printed alongside fonts and menu listings—to be included as a built-in demonstration page. A concept was selected from our subcontract graphic artist's drawings. We then modified this design to highlight additional capabilities of the printer as well as to avoid specific problems found during quality test and analysis. The design was then coded in PostScript with direct program modifications to assure that the illustration would fit within available ROM and would execute within fifteen seconds. The entire project was completed in time to support the product launch.
