Technician Assistant Position


SpencerLab currently has an opening for a Technician Assistant to provide a combination of technical support and administrative assistance. Candidate should be technically trained or inclined, with excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, have an eye for detail, and work well with deadlines. Overall, tasks will include those to support the goals of the company.

Technical support tasks may include printer product testing, technical reporting, including data recording, analysis, and charting results, report writing, computer and network set-up, website maintenance, and software testing.

Administrative support assistance may include day-to-day office tasks such as data entry, ordering testing or office supplies, daily office maintenance, correspondence, report creation, answering phones, record maintenance, and conducting research.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to interact effectively in a dynamic and professional office environment. One must be comfortable working with minimal supervision and also working in a team setting. Real-world technical problem-solving ability is essential, as is computer proficiency with Windows and Mac OS and a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Requirements include the ability to collect and interpret data, read and understand technical documentation, and attention to detail. IT proficiency and a technical degree or certification preferred.

SpencerMetrics LLC is seeking a Business Development professional to establish and manage distribution of the SpencerMetrics product line. Backed by Spencer & Associates’ 26-year experience, SpencerMetrics LLC is a new venture, established to focus resources on this exciting opportunity.

SpencerMetrics Productivity Intelligence enables print shops to understand and reduce their downtime and improve their productivity – gaining significant cost savings with ROI measured in months, not years. The patent-pending, cloud-based architecture supports configurations from single presses to multi-plant, multi-press, operations world-wide – with real-time, on-demand, graphical analytics. Initially targeted at printing plants, SpencerMetrics improves press productivity – color and monochrome, cut-sheet and web, production printers and copiers, large- and grand-format, inkjet, toner, offset – as well as finishing equipment, 3D printers, and other output-producing equipment.

Used in large and small referenced accounts, SpencerMetrics has shown 6-figure productivity improvements, and has received numerous industry accolades. It is ripe for large-scale deployment.

Responsibilities: This is a business-to-business (B2B) sales environment, initially targeting both commercial and in-plant print houses. First priority is continuing to establish effective distribution channels through OEMs, VARs, Agents, etc. as well as a direct channel for large house accounts. You will be expected to refine the sales strategy and marketing messages, plan and develop collaterals, make effective presentations, close house accounts, and identify new business opportunities.

Required Expertise: An established track record of sales/marketing experience in the printing industry, preferably in selling software systems. Attributes include knowledge of current print shop workflow, excellent customer relationships, communication and presentation skills, and effective use of social media. In addition, you must be self-motivated, a quick learner, a team player, and eager to help build a new business.

Marketing Associate

Spencer & Associates currently has an opening for a tech-savvy Marketing Associate to work directly with senior management. S/he would provide leadership as well as detailed support—communicating with our potential client base, with increasingly responsibility for building our business and executing sophisticated assignments from senior management.

We are seeking a sharp, well-organized individual with the ability to interact effectively in a professional environment, further enhancing our reputation with major corporate and industry clients. Our business is based on custom project sales and services. Knowledge, expertise and experience need to be presented as solutions that will appeal to our current and potential client base. Management will set goals and strategies, and the successful candidate will be responsible for tactical implementation.

The ideal candidate will think strategically about the business and be able to generate marketing ideas; be both creative and analytical, an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills; be self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, small-company environment; be a team player with leadership qualities; and understand how to ask just the right questions.

A Bachelors degree is required, along with effective knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of Adobe software and Mac OS as well as Windows is desirable. College Internship

Getting real world experience prior to graduation is invaluable in determining career goals and aspirations.

As an intern at SpencerLab, you will be exposed to the business, marketing, and technical issues within the digital printing business. Using your analytical skills you will help find new approaches to these challenges. Our intern projects help you to learn and develop your skills but also help you to make a meaningful difference in SpencerLab’s businesses and goals. Our intern program will give you access to all aspects of SpencerLab.

The SpencerLab Summer Internship Program runs from June through August; alternate schedules are sometimes available. These are full-time, paid internships. This program is designed to provide capable and motivated students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects.

To succeed in our Intern Program, you must possess strong communication skills, technical and/or computer skills, plus the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and possess some former work experience. We prefer students that are just completing their sophomore or junior year or graduating; however, all are welcome to apply.
