Large-Format Print Quality and Speed/Performance Competitive Analysis
A major printer company needed independent laboratory verification of its superior large-format inkjet Print Quality and Speed/Performance. We defined a test suite appropriate for the targeted market and benchmarked print quality and speed/performance at various document complexity levels against the product's primary competitor. Our results, which confirmed higher print quality and faster performance on four-of-four test documents, were quoted in marketing support materials. An Asian division of a major printer company needed independent laboratory verification of the Cost-per-Page and Speed/Performance of a new color inkjet printer. We defined a test suite appropriate for the targeted market and benchmarked cost-per-page and speed/performance at various document complexity levels against the product's two primary competitors. We confirmed lower cost-per-page on all test documents, and faster performance on most. In the those documents where the client's printer did not meet its performance objectives, we brought the results to the attention of the client's R&D team; one problem was determined to relate to a specific application and another suggested a method of future product improvement. We presented our timely results in an extensive final report, which was quoted in marketing support materials.
